Das ZDF zeigt am Sonntag, 19. Januar 2025, einen weiteren Teil der „Ein Sommer“-Reihe. Mit „Ein Sommer in Italien“ können sich die Zuschauer und Zuschauerinnen auf einen romantischen Spielfilm im Rahmen des „Herzkinos“ freuen.
It’s about Billie and Hella, an unlikely female couple who travel to Apulia, Italy. While Billie sacrifices herself to help her cousin selflessly, Hella is primarily looking for fun. Both will soon face different challenges…

“A Summer in Italy”: broadcast date and time
With another part of the “A Summer” series, ZDF is once again providing plenty of romance. On Sunday, January 19, 2025the feature film “A Summer in Italy” will be broadcast. As usual, the second shows the film Primetime a 20:15 Uhr. It will not be repeated afterwards.

Billie and Hella, two unlikely women, travel to Apulia. Billie looks after her cousin Ariane, who is on the verge of burnout as an influencer. While Billie delves into her role and works on Ariane’s travel blog, Hella longs for fun and a new beginning. She tries to reunite with her former holiday romance, Angelo, after 35 years.
Hella is frustrated that Billie wants to work on vacation. As she prepares to meet Angelo again, she finds old poems that awaken memories and the desire for a new phase of life. At the same time, Billie develops a special connection with Raffaele, a charming photographer, with whom she prepares the sights in Puglia in a media-friendly way.
While Hella encourages Billie to sign up for a dating app, Billie meets Mateo, who immediately falls in love with her. Although Billie has no feelings for him, Mateo offers her swimming lessons, which poses a challenge for her as she is afraid of deep water. The situation becomes complicated when Billie has to organize a swimming trip for Ariane.
The journey takes an unexpected turn when Hella learns that Angelo recently died of a heart attack and that the beautiful letters that so touched her did not come from him, but from his sister Sophia. Hella starts to ponder: Does it make a difference?
